The old LEAF models are primarily meant for old people and students with no money, who don´t have money for repairs and only have to drive couple of miles everyday in cold conditions. You can basically have a LEAF for 10-20 years time without having to pay for repairs. All the newer cars are a lot more unstable, while the LEAF are built in such a simple and reliable way. Best combination of reliability and long distance might be the new Nissan Ariya. But the more features we stuff into a car, the more repairs you should expect to happen. I heard from several Tesla owners that in their circa 6-10 years time with them, they had to get at least 10-50 things fixed, and that half of those things were after the warranty expired, and that it was crazy expensive. And even a respectable brand like VW, I believe that the fact that they have like 100 faults with the software, demonstrates the problem with modern EVś. I personally want an EV where I can mechanically bypass everything that is software in it, so it does not have to update to potentially not want to start up. It takes nothing more than owning a Tesla, and it failing or succeeding an update, and then you can´t get to work and then you end up paying like 500-1000 USD within the warranty period. That is why I am never going to own a Tesla or anything chinese or french that is an EV. All we need is a Nissan 100-200 kw car with a solid state battery, and then you most likely have a car that will guaranteed under any condition last 300-800k miles within 20 years time, that to me is the ultimate EV, not all of these fancy Tesla like cars with all kinds of locked features that have to go through a screen. How dumb is that, locking every function of the car through a sort of Ipad device? You are asking to basically only have a car for 6-10 years time when you are into that kind of a thing. In a 20 year period, you can make a car go through 3 different owners in the same exact family who don´t have a lot of money. So a fantastic service to the world having invented the LEAF. Also let me add that changing the gear system from the LEAF to the Ariya model, most likely will create together with all the new added electrical features a lot more repairs. So I think that most people should be aware of this. The only really bad thing about the LEAF are small things, like the paint job quality, neck supporter, and plastic console that you have to rest your leg against. People should embrace the fact that it is so simple/solid a car. All the newer car models will guaranteed statistically, not last as long as a LEAF car. The only big problem is the range/DC charging getting too hot/owning one is hot places and having to use public places to charge it. If you buy this car, only buy it if you can make everything workout for you while charging at home.

I noticed ZERO mention of the cost to fill any of these H trucks, cars, etc. Once you know that you won’t want a H vehicle! One comment said $200 to fill a H Mayra but I think it is closer to $80. But it cost me $17 to fill my EV battery!

H will never compete with the a battery. H is to expensive and to complex. A battery is simple. And once solid state batteries arrive H vehicles will be dinosaurs. And H is just a way the fossil fuel companies use their NG to make H. Why are we so obsessed with a combustion? Water vapor is the biggest product of a H fuel cell. We have plenty of water! Solar+PV + STORAGE = free fuel for life. H will never compete with charging a vehicle from home.

According to Tesla, the 18" Aero wheels get an EPA max range of 341 miles, the 19" Nova wheels only get 305 miles. That's significant. My 2024 Model 3 LR with 18" wheels has averaged 221 kWh/mile over the first 1000 miles.

Yeah, If they're going to be using the Tesla network then there's no open to feedback. There is no debate. Put the port on the passenger front of the vehicle or on the driver rear of the vehicle. I'd argue that driver rear is the overall best location seeing as though that's the side for the driver and it would be most convenient to the driver instead of walking half way around the vehicle.

acording to tesla the trunk pushes harder the more times you try to close it, like if there was a lot of stuff in your fronk you'd want it to push a little bit harder to make sure it closes completly

This is probably going to go down as the biggest mistake in Tesla’s history. Wait for the legacy automakers who now have a massive fear point to push to slow down EV adoption. If investors become spooked, might not be looked on as a favorable cost cutting measure.

we' ve LOVE Chargepoint simply by the reasons you mention: NUMEROUS LOCATIONS and available with many more cities/utilities/regions, and businesses... so many new DUAL Chargers popping up all over our area... and we are very RURAL. Love it.

One pedal means loosing efficiency - simple as that. You can only recuperate max 67% while you can use 100% if you sail and might need the brakes at the very end but then it is also recuperating unless you are below 10 km/h. One pedal is the wrong way to make drivers inefficient. Who is letting the kettle cook any longer than it should ?

Nothing is ever ‘complete’. The whole point of updates are to address that. Are you trying to tell me any car you EVER owned was ‘complete’ past day one of its production? There are ALWAYS improvements, additions and updates that would benefit pretty much any product. It’s about time our cars became capable of such things without a mechanic or service tech having to physically have the car to make these changes.

Just traded a second generation Chevy Volt plug in for a Tesla X. Loving the range and the fast charging when on the road.

Hydrogen might have a spot in heavy duty applications but to be honest it becomes more irrelevant by the day. Why should we spend electricity to produce hydrogen just to turn it back into electricity? It just seems silly and pointless to me. I think batteries are the way to go.

I thought about it for a little bit and NO! this is not a blow to the electric charging market or Tesla, Elon has almost every major car company and then some on board and committed to NACS, not just car companies switching to NACS but Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International, ChargePoint, Electrify America, ABB, SIEMENS(compatible), some of these companies manufacture chargers for other large electric vehicle charging stations like EVgo. There is no longer a need to hold on to such a big team, so they're wiping the slate clean and are probably going to set their next goal and build an optimized team around that instead while saving a ton of money in the process, it's sucks for the employees but it's efficient.
